Most days you'll find us way down a windy back-country road, past the pavement and down the gravel, beyond a locked gate, and up a dirt track at the most unassuming of properties. With our dusty little truck, picker poles, snake guards, tarps and a bit of grit we spend some of the hottest days finding treasures you can't get from commercial growers. While picking apples on one of those days, we found an unexpected surprise: wild hops. Tangled & entwined high up into the 120 year old apple trees and blackberry thickets, we picked the aromatic cones & dry hopped them into a mead made with local Tuolumne county wildflower honey for a light, refreshing, non-traditional beverage that pairs with anything. You never know what you'll find down those dusty country roads.
