Tucked in the foothills of the Sierras lies a 3rd generation family-owned tree farm, dedicated to sustainably harvesting timber for forest health & wildfire prevention. Their apple orchard began with a handful of trees deliberately planted more than a century ago, trees gone feral in an alpine meadow. Over the years more apples have secreted themselves throughout the forest, alongside their quiet creeks and blackberry thickets, spread only by nature -- each a unique expression from seedling. Their family's focus on forest stewardship and biodiversity makes this property a joy to explore, and every year we uncover more wild apples to include in this blend from a very non-traditional orchard.
